Mister here, I am one of the Man Cats here at Furrydance. But my real ManCat days may be numbered...Teri took me to the Cardiologists today to make sure my heart was sound before she let me be a Daddy Cat, and they found a problem. Not life threatening they don't think, but they advised waiting 6-9 months and having my heart ultrasounded again. Teri is very disappointed, and me too, since I thought I'd be getting a girlfriend here soon!
So Man Cat Monday is a bit subdued here at Furrydance today. So Teri posted a photo of two Dad Cats and you can tell they are buddies! Taddy, the red tabby guy, retired a couple of years ago and lives the happy neutered life with a couple in Pennsylvania. Sammy, the black and white guy, is the daddy to the kittens you saw lazing in the sun.

Well, Teri said her long 4 day weekend is coming to an end and back to work for her. We told her she needs to take time for a nap today, with us of course!
We think every day is Sunday, MOL like Easy we mean. We pace ourselves, work (hunting toys, foraging for food, grooming ourselves) and then nap (two-thirds of our day) and that seems like a nice ratio of work and rest.
Beans ought to be more like us, but Teri says something about that kind of lifestyle not paying too well. We wouldn't know anything about that as we have everything we need without any dollars. We earn our room and board with bunts and purrs.
We all got baths yesterday, including the kittens in the photo, which includes nail trimming, ear cleaning and nailbed cleaning. Most Cornish Rex need baths once a month to stay sweet smelling, and the Sphynx more often than that. So we are used to it and while we squirm and mew a lot, we really do appreciate how good care Teri takes of us all.
Well, back to searching for the perfect Sunday nap spot...

Well, Christmas came and went without much activity round here. Teri went to a friends for overnight, so we didn't even have her to snuggle with. But she promised us that this weekend, she would make up for it...but we heard her say there might be baths in store for us and we wanna smell good, so we will let her have her way with us. We saw the photo of Lux in the drivers seat and thought for a Saturday, this photo of Bo not in the drivers seat would make Luxor smile and feel much better too, do ya think?
Bo was Teri's "Heart Cat" and he crossed the bridge in 2005 and we aren't jealous at all that he was Teri's favorite cat. She and him were a team and spent so much time together at the cat shows, traveling and loving each other, that we all think that there can be only one "Heart Cat". Even after Teri met Mike, Bo shared himself with the both of them, that's how special he was!

We thought this might mean we get two cans of food instead of just our evening treat, but Teri says only kittens get to have canned food twice a day and not just on Tuesday!
Hmmph. She said if there was only two of us here, that we could have canned food all the time, but Teri said we can't have champagne tastes on a beer budget. We like our crunchies though and really like it when kittens are around, because then we get to steal their Royal Canin Baby Cat 34 and it is the yummiest! We helped Teri find the purrfect picture for Twosome Tuesday. It's Brighton and Billy at a cat show, being best buddies!

Well, some of our mancats are being way too manly, considering they are neutered.
Disco keeps hovering over and biting the neck of Mister and Spot knows the girls are in heat and tries to oblige them. Of course, both actions cause Teri to rush over to break things up.
So on ManCat Monday, the only boys that are behaving themselves are Billy and Louis and Jack. I think they deserve a big Thank You! Here's baby Louis in his ManCatly IKEA tent.

It's cold and crisp outside. Teri went out on the deck and took some pictures of the ice on the tree branches. We didn't even get out of bed to see what she was up too. She is drinking coffee and working on the computer and we don't feel like helping with that on this Easy Sunday. Here's a cozy picture of us that Teri made photoshopped to look like a painting.
We hope you all get to take a nap with your beans today.

We kitties see it's that time to dress up in silly Santa Suits, and what better day than Saturday to do that on. Quick, take those photos and then take those silly outfits off of us and let us get back to our Caturday shenanigans!
Ps: we think Spot got off easy, he didn't have to dress up at all, he just happened to be napping next to the Nativity scene!

In March 2009, Cat Fancy magazine will have an issue highlighting the Cornish Rex. Here's the ad that will tell the world about us!
I'm not sure why it looks so blue in this copy, but it's a proof, so maybe that's why?
I already had one friend ask who is that big brown tabby cat, it's not a Cornish Rex but a Bengal cat that Ruby the Rex lives with.
Furrydance Cornish Rex cats gotta be the best kind of Frootbat kitties, next to Skeezix, of course. Why, our ears even flap like a D.O.G.'s when we shake our heads. We've been known to hang upside down like bats, too, MOL. In celebration of our 1st Froot Bat Friday, here's some pix of those ears:

I call this photo Zen Cat. This is Furrydance Bossiney 1990-2005. He is my "Heart Cat", a kitty that came along in a special time in my life where I opened myself up to loving him completely and there has never been another one like him. You can read more about him on my cattery website at http://furrydancecattery.com/memorial.htm

Oh my, we are having fun looking over Teri's shoulder while she looks for just the right white cat for our first White Cat Wednesday...we decided this was a twofer, mommy white cat Nonnen and her precious white baby, Blizzard.

It's our first T. T. and we have so many photos of adorable toes, that it was hard to pick one...but we decided on this one...titled "Smell my Feet", MOL
That's Bubba (he's the white one, and lives in New York) and Phoebe (she lives in Washington state). They are two of Furrydance's extended family.

Meow, it's almost 10pm and almost past Mancat Monday, so we're sneaking in a pix of Taddy Porter, who used to be a daddycat here at Furrydance, but he was tutored and lives the life of leisure with the Guzick family in Pennsylvania. No hiding he's a mancat!

Yipee, Teri did bring home some leftovers! We all got some very tasty turkey breast, she ate the sweet potatoes and crescent rolls. We are hoping she'll bring home some ham at Christmas when she goes to visit her friends that have Lerryn and Lyric, two Furrydance alumni. But we are thinking maybe we'll get some Fancy Feast Medleys as a present, since it's a special treat since Spot can't eat it with his tummy (IBD) issues.
Teri went looking through her computer today, looking for Christmas kitty photos and just as she found a couple, another Furrydance friend sent her one of her Furli in a Santa hat. So far, this is pretty much all the Holiday decorating Teri's done, but it's a start...
Friday, December 12, 2008
In keeping with the holiday spirit, here is our first gift to you...Spot, looking like snow, protecting the Baby Jesus...
So today, they are having a tastier TurkeyFest and we're hoping that means leftovers for us this time, MOL...

This is the first time a Furrydance cat has had a portrait painted and we're all so excited and honored! The cat in the watercolor painting is Furrydance Duncan of Cavaliercats, a handsome red tabby neutered boy that belongs to Cathy Hurley & Mike Zimmer of Laurel, Maryland.
Duncan has his own Catster page http://www.catster.com/cats/804159, and he is a Grand Premier showcat, too. I have to get the details on the artist who painted this picture (they work with Cathy), so if any of you out there would like to commission a portrait, you will know who does a Cornish Rex justice!

Furrydance Pixie, the cutest brown patched tabby & white girl kitty, who belongs to my petsitters son, Ben, won a Third Place slot in The Cat Fanciers Association's Cutest Kids & Cats contest.
and here's a few pix of her...
