Simply Sunday Afternoon...National Pet Memorial Day

I call this photo Zen Cat. This is Furrydance Bossiney 1990-2005. He is my "Heart Cat", a kitty that came along in a special time in my life where I opened myself up to loving him completely and there has never been another one like him. You can read more about him here:

Today, I honor his memory with this Sunday post...I think a lot about Bo, my favorite boycat, born in my second litter of Cornish Rex back in 1990. I lost him to HCM when he was 15 years old, so we did have a good, long, lovely life together.

But when I think of the many kittens that had been born here at Furrydance, Bo holds the dearest, most precious part of my heart. I had an animal communicator tell me that Brighton is Bo reincarnated and I strongly believe that.

Bo and Brighton were almost the same color, Bo being a red and white van and Brighton is a cream and white van. They both weigh the same, and kept their 'show weight' as they matured (which as Disco can tell you, don't often happen).

And they both have the same affectionate habit of 'porpoising' which is what I call the raising up on their hind legs and body slamming your leg. That is how they 'mark' humans and everyone comments on the cute behavior.

Some time ago, I came across this poem on another cats blog and it brings me peace, and in honoring our beloveds, I'll post it here, in honor of Furrydance Bossiney aka Bo.

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

  5. I really loved learning about Bo. Angel Thelma was my original heart cat. There was another, Angel Madison, and now their is Astrid. Though we love everyone of our furry children, there are some that take over our hearts. Bo was the most darling kitten ever. Loved the poem as well. Treasure your wonderful memories. Hugs, Janet
