I got a call from ML last night...the big blue Sherwood boys where stalking and being aggressive to Coco and she had become fearful and jumpy, and crying when she was separated from ML.
Although it's only been two weeks, and things might improve with some more time, ML and Charley and Auntie Deb made the decision that for Coco's happiness, it would be best to fly her back home to me.
I have had it take over 3 months for a new adult cat to settle into it's new home, but also know that the Sherwood's know their cats and if they feel that they will never let Coco into the "tribe" then yes, it's best she come back home to me so she can settle back into her life here with the least amount of stress on her.
I am sad, as I know how much Coco Charlize added to their life, and like ML and Charley and Deb said, they so enjoyed the two weeks of loving and snuggling they had with Coco...and maybe sometime in the future, there could be a Furrydance kitten in their life? Adult cats are more amenable to letting a kitten into their midst than an adult cat and so, we will see what the future brings.
So, today at 3:30pm, I will head to the airport and pick Coco up, not as much fanfare as with her arrival in Texas, but I will be happy to see her again, get her settled into the guest bedroom so she can acclimate back into the cat family slowly again, give her time to rest and nap and get used to her cat friends here again in her own time.
And Auntie Deb said when she gets back home again, she will come and visit all the Furrydance cats, and who knows...maybe the Taylor cats would like a Cornish Rex in their home?? ML said she likes the thought of that!
