Re: What's a Squillion?
Since posting my Squillion photo, I've had a couple of people ask what a Squillion was.
Before I was a member of the Cat Blogosphere, I though a Squillion was like, more than a million...and even though before I spent all my disposable income on real cats instead of "collectable cats" even I, who have enough cat s#@t to fill a museum my mom used to say, didn't have a Squillion!
Well, now I do...though I will probably keep the number at one...that way it's even more special to me! If you Google Squillion, not a whole lot comes up about their origin, but maybe someone out there in the CB can fill us in...I think Jeter Harris has a zillion Squillions, maybe he knows...
Til then, here's some Squillion pix I found out there by Googling...

Caturday Saturday
It's a nice Caturday here. We are all napping. Mewmie is on the computer, downloading some pix of the kittens she took today. She was gone a lot yesterday and said she has one of her favorite "stinky goodness" dinners planned--Chinese food and a Peach Lambic beer...that's her version of canned food for us, HaHaMeow.
Coco's kittens are now 13 weeks old and just went in for their second V.E.T. visit and the vet commented on how slinky and hardbodied all these kittens are! Yep, like the athletes they are! Jasper's heart murmur can't be heard anymore and the rest of the kittens are stable, Grade I or less and no louder and that's good. Buttercup's murmur is the loudest, a Grade II but it is more than likely the same kind of valvular issue other Furrydance kittens have had, and they grew out of it (Brighton had 3 leaky valves as a kitten and his murmur went away--but Mewmie was concerned so she had him ultrasounded by a animal heart doctor just to be sure it wasn't something that needed medication or might shorten his life).
Clover's eye ulcer healed up, but then he got something else and the vet is doing some tests to diagnose it. It might be Chlamydia, a bacterial infection, so he is now on antibiotics and an eye wash and ointment and he is already much better. Mewmie says she is very frustrated by all these eye problems, as she takes such good care of us, but sometimes viruses or bacteria can be in the mommycats mouth and kittens get it when she cleans them. But Teri rushes them right into the vets when she sees something wrong (that means taking them in to work with her, she works at a cat V.E.T.) and everyone gets better real fast. It's surprising how many people get kittens who have never even seen a vet, but that doesn't always mean they have been healthy or taken care of properly, right?
And Teri helps educate the people waiting for kittens about hearts and eyes and everything that they need to know on how to take care of us, including all the vet records too, so their new vet can see any problems they have had as well as all the littermates info, too. Mewmie says honesty is the best policy and an educated client is the best kind!
Kiki's little Berries are doing great, eyes open, fat and sassy and almost 3 weeks old already. They have all been spoken for now, in fact two people are interested in adopting Bluberrie~~one family already has a Furrydance cat and the other family lost their elderly Cornish Rex a year ago and have been looking for just the right one ever since. Sometimes it's the early bird that gets the worm, so Bluberrie might go to live in North Carolina or New Jersey...someone will be happy and someone will have to wait for a kitten or maybe they might be interested in adopting Felicity or Sunny? That would make everyone happy, including Teri!
Here's the latest photos of the kittens and a little movie of Kiki's kids:

Frootbat Friday
Here's the latest shot of "The Flower Children"...Dandelion, Daisy, Buttercup and Clover. If you ask "How did you get them to sit still for this cute pix"...patience and about a dozen shots that didn't turn out...just like taking family portraits with kids in them, someone is always looking away, have their eyes closed or is making a face!
And just so you can see, that they aren't born with huge Frootbat ears, here's a pix of Kiki's three kittens at 11 days old, with little Frooty ears!

Man Cat Monday...
Furrydance Brighton is named after a beach in Cornwall, and his nickname is Surfer Dude. While he was a showcat, his theme was surfing, tiki huts and hulacats...so he entered the Surfin' Safari contest and he'd be stoked if you'd vote for him!

Frootbat Friday
Our Mewmie thinks this is the funniest frooty picture she has in her Froot Basket...Taddy's ears are like that cuz he had a reaction to an ear medicine with cortisone in it...she posted an "after" picture too, so you don't have to worry...his ears went back to normal!

Paw it Forward, We Wanna Play Along!
We Furrydance cats had heard about this Paw it Forward thing going on in the Cat Blogosphere and we just visited THE ISLAND CATS BLOG and Meowzie! Anything that involves a box, crinkly paper, catnip and treats...we want to join in the fun!
Okay, so it’s our turn to have fun pawing it forward to the next katzen blogger. We’ll send something fun to the first one who posts a comment here saying that they wanna participate in Paw It Forward. In turn, to keep the spirit of Paw it Forward going, you must then post about this on your blog, link to us, and then send something to the first one who signs up to play along with you!
Them's da rules. There’re no cost restraints, BUT don’t go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness doesn’t have to involve money; there’re a lot of ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go. Keep the fun going and let us know if you wanna Paw It Forward!!!
