Frootbat Friday, Kely Style!

Kely Bray went in to work with Teri for the last of her laser therapy treatments for her arthritic hips and back. And she loved being a 'clinic cat' so much, that Teri is going to take her to work with her from time to time, so she can purr for their clients while they wait for their kitties treatments, or if they stop by to pick up medicine...

Teri calls Kely a Granny Cat, cuz she is 13 years old and meows like a granny, too, hahameow. But she just had her senior exam and lab work and her bloods are super for an older kitty, but X-rays showed a lot of arthritic changes in her hips and lower spine, so the vet recommended laser therapy.

She got 4 treatments the first week, then 3 the second week and then 2 the third week and has had one a week for 2 weeks and everyone can really see the difference! No longer does she walked hunched up and she is moving more freely, too. Here's a video clip of Kely before her first treatment:

And this is after 4 treatments:

And Teri's phone died, or she would have taken a video of Kely today, so you could see the visible improvement...but she will do that next week and add it to this blog post!

Now Kely is going to start on a glucosamine chondroitin msm supplement and get Adequan injections and see if that can keep her comfortable, and if not, Teri will have the laser treatments started up again...

Oh, and yes, here is a great shot of Kely's Frootbats!

  4. How lovely that laser is helping. I had laser therapy done on Eli because of blocked tear ducts, it really is amazing..

  5. It's great to hear that the laser therapy helped! The only arthritic cat we have had who was prescribed laser therapy wasn't helped by it, so we had been skeptical about whether it was just a lot of advertising. It's great to see that it does help some kitties to have a better quality of life.
