Blog Paws...Here we come!

We haven't posted anything all week, not even kitten pix! And now it's down to the wire and almost time to leave town...on our way to Blog Paws! Because mewmie won't be able to download photos til she returns, she thought she better squeeze in a last minute post!


Last minute stuff she had to attend to today: Getting another package of iron on letters as there was only 1 "Z" in a pack and she needed two and the fabric store was out of them until today! She also had to buy some elastic to "expand" Disco's walking jacket as, ahem...he's put on a few pounds since he wore it last time! Then she could finish packing our wardrobe.


And then there were kitten pix to download so the families waiting for kittens could have their kitten fix. Do you think by now she was getting a little frazzled...yep! But the kitten photo shoot went well and here's a few pix:





But she got it all done and has about an hours worth of last minute packing and cat chores to do and then she can head up to bed, with us--we are already there! She decided to wait to bathe Disco and Brighton after they get settled in the hotel...mostly because if somewhere along the road on the 8 hour drive to Columbus Ohio, either Disco or Brighton may need a "clean up on aisle 2" and well, would need another bath in the end anyway!


She'll stop in Washington DC and pick up Carol and her 3 cats and then the fun will begin! The car will be filled with strollers, sleepy pods, snack food and 5 (hopefully) quiet cats! She said she will try and be diligent about chronicling the weekends activities, from start to finish, but sometimes you have to decide between being photographer and just joining in the fun, but hope she doesn't disappoint, as the CB is depending on attendees to be good reporters!

Did we hear something about Bunnies and Chicks? Disco says..."I'm a Chick Magnet, Bring it on!"


Brighton says "Do Bunnies wear Tu Tu's?


And Purrsephonie, the new garden cat, says "I'm in love with Daisy", not "I'm a Daisy!"


and the newest garden ornament, Bobble (Head) just says "Happurry Easter, EfurryOne!"

Here's a short video of us enjoying our meal of Chicken and Shrimp...nom, nom, nom! Not even the birdies chirping away in the background can distract us...well, maybe one of us!

Caturday Saturday

Remember when Pierro's ladyservant came to visit Pierro's brother-to-be and I sent her home with some tinsel puffballs? These quickly became Pierro's favorite toy!


Well, they are also Brighton's fav and here's a cute video of him, making his own game!



('cuse the mess...I usually go to great lengths to have a pleasing "background in my videos...but I am in the midst of spring cleaning and that pile of stuff -- including the Pedi Egg, as it was not all it was "cracked" up to be--is waiting for a box and then donated to the Lupus Foundation for pickup...)

Frootbat Friday!

These two barely furry, very frooty kittens are sisters to Kiki. Rosie lives in North Carolina with Joy and her new husband and an Exotic Shorthair kitty and a Sphynx! Ruby lives nearby with another Furrydance cat, an Aby and a Bengal.

Easter Lilies Toxic to Cats!

All parts of the lily plant are considered toxic to cats and consuming even small amounts can be life threatening. Within a few hours of ingestion of the lily plant, a cat may vomit, become lethargic or develop a lack of appetite. These signs continue and worsen as kidney damage progresses. Without prompt and proper treatment by a veterinarian, the cat may develop kidney failure in 36 to72 hours.

I continue to be surprised at the number of people who do not know that the Easter Lily is one of the most toxic plants to cats, and how the plants are not labeled with warnings! This time of year, every grocery store has huge displays of Easter candy, baskets, egg decorating kits and yes, Easter Lilies...all ready to be put in the homes of unsuspecting cat owners!

There are many nice alternatives to having lilies in the house (most lilies are toxic to cats, but not seen inside homes as often). Orchids, Easter cactus and violets are options, as are lovely artificial silk lilies.
