World Cat Day 2011

Teri didn't want to miss out in celebrating this special day and to honor the cats 'who came before' so everyone could see how she became a cat person...

Growing up, she never had a cat...she got her first kitty, a moggie calico with a floofy tail but shorter furs everywhere else, when she got divorced way back in 1975 and she took Cascais (pronounced Cash-kysh, a beach in Portugal) with her everywhere, even to the drive in movies, hahameow!

When Cascais was a kitten, she even took her to a cat show or two, and that is where she saw her first Cornish Rex kitty. When Cascais had to be helped to the bridge when she was only 11 years old because she had intestinal cancer, Teri decided to honor her life by getting her first Cornish Rex and name it after a beach, just like Cascais was.

Rusey Beach (a beach in Cornwall) was the beginning of her love affair with Cornish Rex, and to think now, that Teri's life is pretty much 24/7 cats--at work and at home and in blogging...you can tell that cats are very important to her.

She cannot imagine what her life would be like without us cats in it....she says we enrich her life and give her focus and goals and sweet purrs and headbonks and we're happy to make her happy and help her celebrate World Cat Day 2011!

  6. Happy World Cat Day to you all!

It's "funny" how life can turn like that...Our human wasn't a "cat person" until she adopted Chumley after her own divorce. She says we sometimes drive her crazy (like when we insist on waking her for cuddles at 2AM and don't really let her sleep again), but we know she'd be lost without us. ;-)
