Candi, contemplating The Cat Hair Magnet

Well, we aren't sure this qualifies as a toy, but it is truly one of our favorite items in our house...The Cat Hair Magnet! With a name like that, no wonder we are attracted to it, hahameow!

We have 2 of them, had 'em for years and they are still as good as new and get a lot of scritchin time from us. Teri thought they would be too stiff and pokey for us to use them but we loves rubbin' our cheeks on the bristles and getting a little massage whenever we want one!

Toysday! Our Review of the Purrfectplay Dust Bunnies & Carrots!

When us kitties were up at the cat show in Indianapolis a few weeks ago, we were kinda surprised to run into a furriend, Pam Wheelock, who we met at at the very first BlogPaws back in April 2010 and she makes some of the best organic toys on the planet!

We got to chatting again, and she made a fuss over Disco and Coco in their customized stroller and she very generously donated a heaping handful of her special Purrfectplay toys and in return, we promised we would test (and taste) them and write a review for our bloggie...

Teri didn't let us have them until we got back home, cuz she didn't want us losing them under the bed in some hotel room (and as you may remember, one we stayed at wasn't so nice!).

As you can see in the photo below, we got a nice, tasty selection of Wool 'Dust Bunnies' which are light and fun to bat around and easy to grab with our teeth and carry around! And we got a couple of very Bite-able Baby Carrots, too!

Each and every toy PurrfectPlay makes is made of organic natural fibers, with no dyes or toxins, no synthetic or reprocessed plastic and of course, where applicable, are stuffed with Certified Organic Catnip!

As you can see, Brighton thinks the texture of the carrot is just right for putting the bitey on! Maybe he had too many choices, do you think??

He gave the Carrot his Chomp of Approval, as you can see in the video clip below!

When Brighton ran off with a Carrot, Disco said, My turn, my turn! He has a thing for chewing on paper, so right off he grabbed the Purrfectplay business card, hahameow. You can't really tell, but he was really inhaling that organic nip!

Teri felt really good knowing these toys were hand made and safe in every way...something she just never feels real comfortable with when she buys toys at those 'Big Box' places! So, I guess these toys even made her feel good, hahameow!

And Coco does love the nip, as you can tell in the video below. Teri is hoping that one of those dust bunnies becomes her favorite toy, so she can throw that ratty sock away that Coco carries everywhere!

and even Sammy got in on the action...sniffin and a whiffin!

Toysday! Our Review of the Junk Food Flyers...

MeWowZa...One would think testing and reviewing toys would be a slam dunk, enviable job description, wouldn't ya?!

But oh, the pressure!

First of all, some human put some thought into devising a captivating plaything for us.. CatGod luv 'em, they try, but we cats continually frustrate them by choosing to play with Q-Tips instead, hahameow!

We often find very unique and intriguing toys on the cool cat site, ModernCat and when we saw these Junk Food Flyers, we told Teri that they looked like fun, bite sized toys that we could carry around, toss in the air and covet under the bed!

So the lovely lady Kate, from ModernCat offer to send us some to play (or not) with and review! Disco said they sounded Yummy (he has been known to put the bitey on cat food bags) and Coco has a penchant for coveting small toys and burying them under the covers.

And Teri liked the fact that they were recycled trash! So we anxiously awaited their arrival by mail...

Teri took some pictures of them and then handed them out to us...and she waited and frowned when we just sniffed and walked away! Well, she said she was going to have to be 'interactive' and make them FLY...still kind of a bored response from us once they 'landed'.

Then she got the bright idea of sewing a loop on one and attaching it to one of our 'fishing pole' toys! That did the trick! We thought they kind of fluttered like a butterfly and when we 'caught' them, they made a nice crunchy sound!

So we are happy to report we give the Junk Food Flyers our Paw of Approval, we just had to 'customize' them to our own purrsonal taste, that's all!

Our Review of 3 new Kong Cat Toys!

KONG COMPANY has a collection of new cat toys called Cat Cozies, and we were invited to test them out! What's not to like about that, right?!

We have many Kong toys--the large Kickeroos and the small restuffable catnip toys and even the Hugga Wubba teaser on a stick (Teri keeps that one in her suitcase for when we travel!).

Teri said these new Cozies are cute, and we said they looked the perfect size to carry around! Our house has varied surfaces to test batting these toys around, too...carpet, tile and wood.

They come in 3 different 'styles'...green frog, brown bear and blue raccoon. They are very soft and light enough to fling into the air and then pounce on! They are filled with premium North American catnip and we rubbed and rubbed our cheeks on them when Teri passed them out to us!

When she tossed the Cozie Roller across the living room floor, we all made a mad dash to claim our 'prey' and Brighton took off up the stairs with his! It sounds like a rattle when we bat at it. So far, we haven't pulled off the feathers on the other Roller, so that means they are durable! The one with the feather makes crackly sounds when we smoosh it.

The Cozie Kickeroo makes a nice 'crunchie' sound when we put the bitey on it and we like that! Teri got Disco to bunny kick it by making it tickle his tummy (and we all know he's got a nice tummy to tickle!)

And the Cat Cozie (we got the green frog) is just as cute as the Kong Duckie we have, and Coco likes to hide it in Teri's bed, where she finds it when she makes the bed in the morning

We have each other to cuddle with, so we really didn't cuddle up with them, so we mighta named 'em Cat Crazie instead of Cozie, though...hahameow!

We give these new Kong Cozies a 'High Five' out of 5 for being just the right size and with just the right amount of 'crunch'! Teri gives them a 'High Five', too for being cute and well made.

And we all think they are a nice addition to our 'Toy Box' and we want to thank the Kong Company for thinking of us and letting us test out these new Kong Cat Cozie toys!

Thankful Thursday

Mewmie came home from work today, sayin' she stopped at PetSmart and was looking for these little springy toys we like, but they didn't have any. But when she came back inside from going to the mailbox, she had a box in her hands and she said "Hey kitties, Finny sent you all a Paw It Forward box!"


She ran and got her camera (cuz the last time we got a PIF box, she just let us dig in and forgot to take any pictures!) and set the box down on the living room floor. We sniffed and sniffed it. She opened the card next, and she told us that was the polite thing to do when you got a present, to read the card first. It was cute, with a cat on the front about as fat as Disco, with lots of treats and candy round him. We felt like we had been trick or treating with the wonderful treats that Fin and Meg sent us!


Then she opened it and we stuck our heads inside the box and did more sniffin! Inside were some of the very toys that mewmie had been eyeing at PetSmart! Kitten sized Kickeroos (that krackle when you put the bitey on them), a box of Super Catnip which mewmie opened up and sprinkled round our treats, many balls with bells in them (they will be fun to bat around the wood floors!) and a green tinsel ball (which Kiki found and ran off with!), a bag full of mice and balls of all sorts (like a motherlode of prizes!) and even some milk jug caps and rings (which Disco grabbed and ran up the stairs with his favorite white one.


Mewmie wants to thank Fin and Meg for such a box full of fun for all us Furrydance cats (and yes, the kittens are still here and got to enjoy the pressies, too--they go off to their new homes on Saturday).


So, to keep this Paw It Forward fun going, we will start shopping and make up a package of delites for the very first kitty that posts a comment saying "Me, Me, Me...Pleeze, Pleeze, Pleeze.
