We have spent the last two days, thinking a lot about sweet Princess, so many funny posts, so many pretty pictures...as we watched her slowly fade, and we knew her time with us was coming to it's end...it is still this photo (which her family named screamingfrootbat.JPG) which will bring the smiles to our faces and help dry the tears.
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

OK, that poem totally made mom's eyes leak ALOT! She will be sadly missed but we think she must look beautiful with her white Angel wings!
ReplyDeleteYes, they always are with us.
ReplyDeleteLoosing a cat family friend is so hard. I have already shared about our Nala, the manx, that we lost. We now have a very old cat, 13 or more years old, that is fading away. She is going to sleep her way to heaven. I am so sorry about Prinnie.
ReplyDeleteOh Terri we are so heartbroken about Prinnie...she was a beloved sister in lambs fur...thank you for your tender friendship...
