Thankful Thursday

...Look who we saw this week!

We hadn't caught a glimpse of Mama Katz since June 20th and Teri was so happy to see her this morning. Thank Goodness!

We fed her some kibble, and gobbled that up! She looks good and we hope that we see more of her, especially now the weather is getting cold.

You can see her next to the 'dog house' Teri bought as a shelter, but so far neither kitty has used it, even though there is a pet safe heating pad inside. Teri read that some feral cats just don't like being 'trapped' inside a box, even if it is warm.

She also read that their shelter should be far away from where they are fed, as they can't relax and settle in if they think an introoder might come for a snack, too. She might try moving it around the garden, to see if there's a spot they like better, but she thinks they must have someplace (like a pile of leaves under someone's deck) where they hunker down every night...but we'd be happy if either Tom Tom or Mama Katz started using the 'dog house'.

Unlike TomTom, who just hisses at her, Mama K mews politely and if Teri saw her more often, thinks she might even become pettable...but for now, just seeing her is a treat and makes Teri smile (though we get a little 'bristly' when we see cats outside!)

  3. She looks like she might just take to the house if it is in the right place in your yard.

  6. She looks quite round and healthy. Maybe she shouldn't come to close to Your territory but it's nice to be able to keep track of her. Who knows what of yourstuff she could be getting into if you can't see her?? Right?
