Almost Wordless Whiskerhump Wednesday...

Here's a pix of Brighton at the vets today, getting a follow up urinalysis. He is looking very festive for a visit to the vet...just like Coco was a couple of weeks ago!

We like making people smile! The FedEx driver smiled big-time when Brighton greeted him with mega-bonks and a knee high 'porpoising move' that is his 'signature'!

Unfortunately, BrightOne's urine is still way too concentrated, 1.084 and the pH is 7.0 (should be ~ 6.5). There were 2-3 struvite crystals per HPF, but everything else was normal--no bacteria or blood...

So, even though he seems symptom free and hasn't had a urinary blockage in over 18 months, he will need to go on a prescription diet to see if we can bring him back in line with what's normal.

We already have water fountains and Sink Drinks and Teri adds water to our canned food, and Teri would have to check all our labwork to be sure, but she said it seems every one is our house has pretty concentrated urine for some reason...

It won't be so difficult as everyone is on a 'mealtime feeding' schedule an I don't leave dry food out all the time any more...but I think it will be hardest on Teri as she is really into feeding holistic foods with no by-products, corn or wheat.

But neither does she want Brighton blocking again, so she will try the diet for a month and then have his urine retested and see if it's better. Then she will go another month and re-test. If it's still the same, she said she will go back to feeding the Nulo and Life's Abundance that she likes for us.

And here's a good double Whisker Hump photo to honor Manly Kismet, RIP...

These two handsome kitties are Billy and Edward, part of our extended family...they live in Missouri and obviously have some cushy blankies there, just like us!

Wordless Wednesday

One of our extended family, Angel...and her lap partner Slate, a Chihuahua! They both have Frootbat Ears, don't they?!

Angel (who was nicknamed Blueberry when she lived with us) lives in New York and her owner Eddie says 'This is where Angel and Slate sit in the early morning when i am working on the computer on my church work'.

And don't forget to Blog Hop today!

Wordless Wednesday

This photo could have many captions...but today it's Wordless!

The kitty is Picchu, a Furrydance cat that was returned to me because of inappropriate urination, at about the same time I got another kitty, Macchu back for the same reason. Well, they became buddies, going through rehab together and they found their new forever home with Rob and Robbi and as you can see, a big dog!

Wordy Wednesday

Hello my fellow Catizens,
Coco here, using the platform of a usually Wordless Wednesday, to talk a little bit and tell you why you should cast your vote for me, the Cat for Change candidate.

The clock is ticking down to January 31st, when the voters will pick the catdidate they feel will be the best one to serve as their Cat President ( I am not sure if that is for 4 human years or 4 cat years though) and I thought I should tell you a little bit about myself.

I am a Cornish Rex cat. My cat ancestors came from England, many cat years ago, to escape the tough existence of being barn cats. We were teased and made fun of because we were different, but that has given us the experience and compassion to be around all kinds of cats and be diplomatic, and that experience is very important if you are going to be a good cat president.

Another attribute that is important when being the cat leader of your country, is to be a good listener. I am sure you can see that big ears is one of my strongest points, and I will not turn a deaf ear to what my catstituents tell me. I have heard about Fireside Chats and that sounds like a splendid idea to implement, as with my short fur, I am always seeking out warm spots!

I also have a wonderful fashion sense, it seems to just come naturally to me, like my wavy fur. It is very important for a cat president to be well groomed and stylish at all times, just like Jackie Kennedy or Michelle Obama. You can tell by looking at my picture, that not a hair is out of place!

And I will not spend my catstituents taxes dollars on fancy clothes and junkets, just give me a string of pearls and some Temptation treats, and I will be happy.

White Cat Wednesday

Oh my, we are having fun looking over Teri's shoulder while she looks for just the right white cat for our first White Cat Wednesday...we decided this was a twofer, mommy white cat Nonnen and her precious white baby, Blizzard.
