Yay! Teri gets to be home with us for 3 days! She said it was hard to leave Mama Coco and her new babies when she went off day hunting! But all is well! And the two little orangy boys now have nicknames! Our petsitters kids always get the honor of naming the kittens, and here are what they came up with to choose from:
Here are some of the names the kids came up with for the new kittens:
Laina
- Cheese names: Colby (Jack), Cheddar, Cheeto, Chester, Cheez-it
- End Names: Finn, Fizz
- Soda/ Juice names: Orange Crush, Soda Pop, Tropicana, Sunny-D
- Silly names: Willy, Wonka
Laina
I had been tossing names around in my head and remember when I first started blogging, that we followed 2 orange kitties named Colby and Cheddar, The Cheezits.
They don't blog any more, but I thought the names just fit purrfectly, so that's what I picked out--Colby is the bigger cream colored kitten, and Cheddar is the smaller, darker kitten...The Cheeto Banditos, hahameow!
Coco has settled into contented mamahood once again (it usually takes her a couple of days not to be so anxious and nervous) and the babies are active and nursing well.
They have lots of 'faucets' to pick from, but they aren't gaining the 10-15 grams a day yet like Teri would like, so she will make sure this weekend that even if she has to wake them up, that they nurse frequently.
Two people on our waiting list have decided they really want a girl cat, so Teri gave them the names of some other breeders to contact, since yes, she really is retiring after 3 years of talking about it!
Even so, Teri still had to narrow down the list a bit more, and she has decided on two families out of the three. Two lucky couples will get one of the Cheezits!
One couple already have 2 Furrydance kitties, and the other couple want to add a second Cornish Rex to their family, after recently losing one to cancer. Teri is pleased as punch to know that Coco's babies have such special people waiting for them!
So, in between checking on Coco, Cheddar & Colby, Teri is packing up the last of the auction items and running to the post office, getting her tastebuds ready for a bbq'd steak and a good movie (Hachi, A Dog's Tale, starring the yummy Richard Gere) and visiting our bloggie friends too (and maybe making it to the M's on our blogroll!)...
Then Saturday & Sunday---Basement Birdwatching Station Make Over! Sounds like a fun weekend ahead, doesn't it?! We hope all of you have some feline fun, too!
And to finish off the post for today...here's a little movie starring The Three C's,
Coco, Cheddar & Colby!
Congratulations on the two orange ones. They looks so cute.
ReplyDeleteHOW SWEET! We love the names and the video was precious. We cannot imagine ever being that small!
ReplyDeleteThey are very cute--and very nice names!
ReplyDeleteCheeto Banditos - that is great. We are happy they are doing well and look forward to watching them grow up!
ReplyDeleteMOWL!!! Before I read all the way down I totally picked the same names! Adorable cheezit boys! Can't wait to meet them in 'the curlz' pretty soon!
ReplyDeleteDisregard any postings about you having to do a 'head count' of kittens before we leave. I would never do such a thing! It's not like I have two suitable clones to put in place and NO ONE would ever KNOW they weren't the REAL kittens... I mean really!
